DESCRIPTION:The U.S. Treasury has released proposed regulations for the Federal Voucher Tax Credit program\, which launches January 1\, 2027. The proposed rules answer some questions about how the program will work\, but questions remain about what the program means for Tennessee students and public schools. \nJoin EdTrust-Tennessee and Stand for Children Tennessee on Wednesday\, October 29 at 4 pm CT / 5 pm ET for Federal Focus\, Tennessee Lens: Federal Voucher Tax Credit Program (Part 2). Together\, we’ll break down the proposed rules\, what they could mean for Tennessee public schools\, and how advocates can engage. \nRegisterPublic school students can be recipients of this new federal program\, but EdTrust-Tennessee remains concerned that the program’s design and delivery will primarily benefit students in private schools.  \nThe Federal Tax Credit program is moving forward\, and Tennessee has opted in to participate.
