Federal Focus, Tennessee Lens: Federal Voucher Tax Credit Program Part 2
October 29 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm CDT
The U.S. Treasury has released proposed regulations for the Federal Voucher Tax Credit program, which launches January 1, 2027. The proposed rules answer some questions about how the program will work, but questions remain about what the program means for Tennessee students and public schools.
Join EdTrust-Tennessee and Stand for Children Tennessee on Wednesday, October 29 at 4 pm CT / 5 pm ET for Federal Focus, Tennessee Lens: Federal Voucher Tax Credit Program (Part 2). Together, we’ll break down the proposed rules, what they could mean for Tennessee public schools, and how advocates can engage.
Public school students can be recipients of this new federal program, but EdTrust-Tennessee remains concerned that the program’s design and delivery will primarily benefit students in private schools.Â
The Federal Tax Credit program is moving forward, and Tennessee has opted in to participate. This webinar will help advocates understand how it works, weigh its impact on educational equity and opportunity, and see how public schools and other organizations may begin to interact with the program.
