Jennifer Novo is the executive director of FUTURO, Inc, a college-success professional development organization in Middle Tennessee. Jennifer has been working in higher education for two decades. Her work in areas related to student retention, access and success, instruction, and student advising has given her the capacity to have a better understanding of how to address the issues that concern students and administrators. During her time in higher education, she has held various roles including director of student success, university student retention specialist, dean of student success, and director of academic enhancement center. She played a key role in the development of various campus-wide efforts to decrease student attrition and programming at the university level. She is committed to student success and issues of equity. She uses her platform, time, and energy to help college students learn interdependence, service, civic engagement, growth, and professional development.
Jennifer earned an MS in higher education administration from Florida International University and a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of Southern Florida. As a first-generation American and first-generation college graduate, she is proud of her Latina roots. Jennifer enjoys volunteering and serves on the board of Urban Green Lab, an educational sustainability nonprofit. Originally from Miami, she lives in Mount Juliet with her husband and son.
