Jenny Mills McFerron is the Assistant Director for P-16 Policy and Research. She leads the development and conceptualization of policy tools and resources, develops research projects, and serves as a member of the leadership team.
Prior to joining EdTrust, Jenny served as the vice president of education and talent development at the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. In that role, she led a range of strategic initiatives spanning from early education through adult postsecondary attainment, with much of her work centered on creating more equitable career pathways systems in the Nashville region. Jenny also worked in higher education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and in college access at the Tennessee College Access and Success Network and Oasis Center.
Originally from California, Jenny holds a master’s degree in education from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development and a bachelor’s degree in political science from UCLA.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Spending time with friends, family, and my dog. Being outside hiking, running, and gardening. Reading.
Why are you passionate about working at EdTrust?
I’ve admired EdTrust Tennessee’s work for years and it’s an honor to be a part of this super smart and dedicated team. The next ten years will be pivotal ones for education, and I’m excited to create more equitable education systems for Tennessee’s students.
