Maya Cole is a diligent and committed honors senior biology major with a concentration in secondary education at the Illustrious Tennessee State University! Maya is hailing all the way from the peach state of Atlanta, Georgia to fulfill her dream of being an educator. Maya has spent the last two summers interning with Tennessee State’s College of Education and Memphis Teacher Residency Marjorie Lee Brown STEM discovery program to further her knowledge on working within the education field. Maya currently serves as the Chaplain for the Alpha Beta chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. She is also the Historian of Tennessee State’s STEA (Student Tennessee Education Association) Teaching Tigers Chapter & Lead Residential Mentor for TSU’s Office of Disability Tiger Edge program.

Maya is passionate about impacting the youth through hosting community outreach programs, assisting in event organization, and providing support to leaders with similar ideas for innovating education. Maya’s ultimate goal is to receive her PhD in Education Policy and find more ways to connect teachers, students, and their community. Maya aspires to have a career that amplifies the mission of quality education for all while ensuring equity.
